Chemical Hazard
Chemical Hazard is substance that can cause harm to the people. It can be described the following headings:
Flammability
Flammable substance catches fire readily and burn in the mixture of air. It does not burn itself. The vapour from any flammable liquid that burn. For flammable liquid, auto-ignition temperature, the flash point, explosive limits, vapour density and the ability of accumulating an electrostatic charge are the most important factors to determine the degree of fire hazards.
Reactivity
Reactive chemical hazard invariably involves the release of energy at a rapid rate or in relatively high quantities. Some chemicals decompose rapidly when heated (University of Toronto 2009).
Health
If human body contact with certain chemical may result in adverse health effect. The magnitude and the nature of the effect of toxic depends on the nature of substances, magnitude of doses, route of exposures, duration of exposures and individual susceptibility.
