Science behind Stress ball and Psychological Hazard-
According to psychological theory, when we are under any stress, the information we take through our channels.
1. The primal basic sensory channel- sensations, sounds, the sights and smell of the situation.
2. The intellectual channel- our brain try to make sense of what happened or what’s going on.
If our basic sensory channel is blocked or occupied with something, we don’t experience any events as vividly; means our intellectual channel is muted. A large portion of our brain is dedicated to process the information that comes from the squeezing the ball in our hand. So the stress relief technique which concentrate on the hand and will use our brain cycle more and pull the process power away from the activities of our intellectual channel.
By squeezing a ball, we can relief our stress by keeping us busy with the repetitive movement. Our stress or anxiety redirects to the activity of squeezing a ball (Cognitus UK 2014). From this we understand, we can relief our stress by doing something keeping ourselves busy.
